the most authentic objects  (2015)

artist book

I spend a great deal of time thinking about language used for describing art. Words such as "authenticity" and "vulnerability," are often employed for its assessment. As both an artist and author, I often ask myself, "what does a vulnerable object look like and what is my most authentic gesture?"

I realized my most authentic gestures were not ones of action, but of conservation. Considering the inherent authenticity of the art we make in our private lives, this book contains remaining relics saved from my first love.

This artist book is my authentic object, embodying my most authentic gesture of conserving these authentic objects.
