Mating Rituals (2014-2016)

A series of invented animals performing their mating rituals for attention, competition, and display. From top: Mating Ritual of the of the Pink-nibbed popper, Mating Ritual of the Ball-tipped shaker, Mating Ritual of the Lumpbutt bouncer, Mating Ritual of the Wiggle Biddy Brigade. 

When exhibited, each video is a looped single channel video projection with sound. The invented animals perform their mating rituals at unknown intervals, but will overlap and battle it out for the attention of the gallery goer. Each animal is designed, performed, and recorded by the artist, Sidney Mullis. Videos can be shown on screens or other installation methods, as needed for the exhibition.
